We departed at 11:50 from our house to catch the 12:30 ferry to Vancouver Island, and you may have guessed that, being a Sunday, we didn’t get on the 12:30 sailing. We were actually about 6 cars from making it on. In any case, we passed the time waiting for the next ferry by visiting one of Horseshoe Bay’s fine coffee house establishments while we watched the locals and ferry-riders mill about.
We had a pleasant voyage over, then an even more pleasant drive up the Vancouver Island highway then over to the western-most side of Vancouver Island. The road to Ucluelet/Tofino had been improved considerably and it was a gas (for Andrew) to drive over in the Crossfire.
We arrived after the guest office had closed so the key to our cabin was under the mat and we let ourselves in. Our cozy little cabin had a bedroom on the downstairs floor with a hot-tub outside on the deck. The upstairs level had a bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower stall, and the living room and kitchen.
We had a nice dinner, a quick hot-tub, and called it quits.
