Hi Folks: Our second day in Palm Springs was really fun. It was a lazy day by and large. Steve went for a bike ride – the bike which was rented from a local company that dropped it off right at our location. Then we explored Palm Springs a little bit by going [...] Departing LA and getting out of the city was surprisingly uneventful. Not too much to tell you. The drive to Palm Springs was interesting, and the resort is fantastic. Love love love it here, and the resort, too. Had a great lunch at a Vegan restaurant, and bought a bunch of groceries at [...] The video doesn’t really say it all. We couldn’t show you the really fun rollercoasters because we didn’t want to have the camera go flying. We couldn’t show you Splash Mountain, because we didn’t want to drown the camera. Steve shot 1 hour of footage, but we managed to compress it into [...] The disembarkment ramps at the cruise ship dock were broken, so this is the only way we could get off the ship. Okay, so really, this is the water park in Palm Springs. Wel, we finally arrived in Los Angeles. The video below shows a few highlights of our time on the ship. Our next adventure will be in Disneyland, then on to Palm Springs. Managed to find an internet connection (”50 times faster than dial-up”) but boy dial-up sure must be crappy in the States because [...] So there is no Internet access on the boat because it’s broken. We are at the outermost reaches of cellular service as we cruise down the coast. Our stateroom is lovely and quiet and we are enjoying the spaciousness and the 2 TVs. The signal strength bars are diminishing as I write this, so this [...] The nice thing about taking a cruise to your destination is that you can let someone else (the Captain?) worry about getting you there. That would also allow one to sit by the pool drinking beer. Hurrah!
Relaxin’ at sea After the dog sled adventure we took a little drive down the road (40kms?) into Wells Gray Park. It was a very pleasant drive and we saw horses and a bison farm on the way. Our goal was to visit Helcken Falls. It’s 3 times as high at Niagara Falls and with all the cold weather [...] We awoke from our room bright and early.
Headed out to the woods.
Hooked up the team to the sled.
Harnessed the team.
And took off.
Then we stopped to take photos.
And took off again back down the mountain.

We arrived at the homestead yesterday and got settled in. The proprietor told us that the sledding would start early since it was so warm, the dogs get too hot by the afternoon, so we were told to meet our guide at 8:00 am at a [...] |
